So many companies have CCTV which they don’t monitor, because of time and financial constraints. What constitutes a reportable offence? CCTV is associated with detecting crime, however it should be involved with detecting activities ranging from:
- Production process issues.
- Safety & Health issues.
- Supervise in-house security personnel for compliance with the Security Site Procedure Manual. Ensure criminal incidents and other transgressions are detected and reported for further investigation.
- Record and report suspicious behavior or incidents for review and investigation.
- Observe and monitor access and movement in high risk areas in order to detect and record suspicious behavior or incidents.
- Arrange or position the use of CCTV cameras and screen sequencing to increase the possibility of detecting security and crime incidents.
- Highlight coverage shortfalls and follow-up of all outstanding faults/failure/alarm conditions.
- Report security incidents and emergency situations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Liaise with security services providers on non performance issues, ensuring corrective measures are implemented.
- Report faulty or defective security systems to superiors and relevant sections.
- Raise security awareness.
- All anomalies are recorded to a DVD and a typed report submitted to client fortnightly.
